I grew up in East London with no aim but to make it through a school day without getting bullied...and that was just primary school! In secondary school when I was 12, my art teacher was constantly on my case, so I thought I was rubbish at art. It was a shock when she told my parents that she thought I should go to college one day a week to work on an art degree. I didn't think I had the ability, and was a bit scared of the thought of college, so didn't go, and in the end, finished school the earliest I could.
My turning point was at seventeen when I had my first of five children. I started to focus on them which seemed to bring out the best in me.
I used my art in which ever way I could, and at twenty eight, started making cakes for their Birthdays............lots of kids, lots of practice...........and here I am now!
