7" vanilla sponge with raspberry jam and vanilla butter-cream filling made for a neighbour who ordered it for herself. She wanted something special to share with her friends at her coffee morning :aww:

Ah coffee mornings! How my Grandma adores them and sewing mornings, though it should just be called a coffee morning also as they don't do any sewing!

That's so beautiful Gina.  I love the simplicity of the white expanse to really highlight the beauty of those wonderful roses.  And I adore the way you've curled the leaves, they're totally perfect!

Thankyou May :hug: .....those roses seem to be way too popular recently....which is nice, but

they take forever to make. It's lucky they are enough on their own to look effective as I don't

think I'd have the motivation to ice anything else on it :lol:

I understand.  Polymer clay roses take time too, particularly (of course) to get them looking realistic.  I always love your work though!

This is lovely ^^ the colours of the well crafted decoration on the white icing is very pleasing to the eyes...

Also I wanted mention that we made a cake using your tutorial for my sis' bday last year, it was fun XD but unfortunately it was kind of embarrassing to look at so I'm unsure about releasing those images just yet XD;; thanks for the tut though =P

Thankyou :aww:

....it seems I'm using the same sort of design with the roses these days, but they seem really

popular. I wish sometimes they wasn't because they take soooo long to make ^^

I'm glad you had a go at making a cake. I hope the tutorial was ok to follow. It

is just simply practice, so don't lose heart :heart:

Have you tried other sculpting? Like with polymer clay? They're so great for making anything from cute to amazing sculptures that last forever! (I hope)

I think because I saw a lot of cool fake cake sculpts, it just came out of my head to bring it up 8D since you make real cake and sculpt them in to not so cake-y looking things XD;;

It was perfectly fine btw and, I will in the future thanks!

No....but I've always wanted to, never seem to have the time though. The last non-edible

sculpture I made was at school with clay. It would be great to try something new in the future :)
