Eeyore 2 Cake by ginas-cakes Eeyore 2 Cake by ginas-cakes
After a long week, Eeyore is finally finished..:)
..If I just had cakes to do....it would be brilliant, and I'd do a lot more or them.....!

Anyway, he's a vanilla victoria sponge with butter-cream and strawberry jam filling. He took about 20 hours including cooking.
The flowers are fondant and attached with royal icing to dry spaghetti.

All stages of the cake are in my scrapbook if you'd like to see how he started....they have notes that are written mainly to myself as I keep makeing the same silly mistakes. I thought I would be able to refere to them if I need to....:)

If you would like to use this image for anything at all,
would you please let me know before you do so.....Thankyou..

Wonderful cake!! I, unfortunately am not an artist.  I am crafty at best. I like making  cakes For my kids, and one of them loves eeyore. So I was wondering if you could share some insight.  Any tips on carving? I have Tried it before and it was harder then I hoped. Also, what did you use to make the arms and legs? I would normally use Rice Krispie treats and cover them in homemade fondant.  But yours do not look as stiff as Rice Krispies.  Also, I have to tint my fondant and have never been successes soul with the color you used for his snout. Do you have any recommendations? Thanks for your help.  I am not sure I will be able to pull this off, but I would love to give it try.

Hello Claudia,

Have you sculpted sponge cake before? I ask only because it was really difficult for me to do this cake. I had to shape the whole body and head from the stacked sponges as I didn't use a support rod.

Maybe you could use a support rod and carve the head separately?
Also, some of these other pictures may help ginas-cakes.deviantart.com/gal…

hi Gina thanks a lot for your reply! Yes i carved cakes before. I just have a difficulty how to do this one though.  I want to do a boofle bear cake and it has the same shape as this one.  I was thinking of doing them separate and than stick it but i'm scared it falls :( I'll give it a go and see how it goes

Thanks a lot for you help!!! :)

Boofle bear is really cute. I have never seen him before :aww:

I wish you well with your cake, and please let me know how you get on........and maybe even submit a picture, I'd love to see it :)
