This is the way I make fondant flowers. I read it in a book ages ago....can't find it now, but they turn out ok.
I like this method because you don't need to use any icing sugar as the petals just peel off the clingfilm ok. It also means that you don't have to use anything to stick the petals on, and the entire flower is edible.
I've tried to explain the best I can, but if there is anything that doesn't make sence, or you have problem if you try them out, I'll be happy to explain....:aww:

hi wow this is amazing! i was actually trying to find a tutorial on making roses like this, and coincidentally stumbled across yours! ♥

hope you don't mind me asking a quick question — why did you cover your finger with clingfilm? does it add a particular texture or is it just to avoid fingerprints?

....and it's mainly to do with hygiene, but it also stops the icing sticking to your fingers and peels off the clingfilm on the surface easier.

No, sorry...I don't make my own. To be honest, I've not been brave enough to try it. Plus
I have a shop over the road that sell ready made, so it's quicker and easier.
