This is the stages of the cake. I didn't take as many pictures as I wanted, but as usual, I was runnung out of time to get it finished, and things sorted for my daughters Birthday
Thanks a lot for this tutorial It will be usefull for me this week. Can I ask you about the details of the doll like sashi and flowers on kimono? Did you paint it, or it was made from marzipan as well? I wish to be as skilled as you...Thanks for an answer
...The flowers are made from fondant/icing rolled out quite thin. When they had dried, I used some food colouring to shade them. The stem and leaves are just piped on.
If there is anything else you would like to know...just ask
I am so envious Today I baked some cake in cups - because I am gonna do just some small statues on top of a cake - geisha and samurai. I am afraid it won´t be any good -it is my first time to do something like it. And it is quite hard to find some fondant to cover the statue - last time I used marzipan - but it crumbles, so I have to use something else
If by showing the stages, people will have a go themselves, then that's great
