Penguin's Moving Cake by ginas-cakes Penguin's Moving Cake by ginas-cakes
This is a cake I did for someone a couple of years ago when they were moving. It's vanilla sponge covered with fondant.

This cake itself isn't very festive, but thought it could be if the packing boxes were replaced with presents, and there was a Christmas hat here and there...... :)

It's super easy to make yourself. You only need 2 ingredients ,and you can make dark ,milk ,or white modeling chocolate(generally the more cacao the firmer the dough). I can send you a UK recipe if you would like. :)

It's one of my favorite materials to use. It is firmer and seems to hold it's shape a little better than fondant. I love it for flowers. You can even cover whole cakes it in like fondant ,and if any cracks or imperfections happen you can just smooth them out without any problems.

All those books! I approve! :rofl:

The penguins are so glossy! And I also really like the flowers! So detailed~ Have you thought about taking size-comparison pics for the smaller, more intricate parts of your cakes? ; 7 ;

...ooooh no, I've not. I just take a picture to
put it in my folder. I could start doing it from
now on. I've been taking more pics since being
on da so people can have a go. It is hard to judge
how big thigs are from the photo. I think the
penguins were only about 7cm tall.

Hehe, yeah... It'd be fun to see how big the cakes would look in real life! Things with lots of small-scale details are WAY more impressive than larger replicas (simply because they're so much more annoying and tedious to make LOL), but if there aren't really any comparison photos, it's hard to tell... :P
