If your trying this out for the first time, start off with a smaller sponge. The hardest part of this process is to place the icing round the sides, so the smaller the sponge, the easier it will be.
Have a cup of boiling water at hand to dip you pallet knife in for smoothing butter-icing over the sponge.
This tutoral has brief descriptions of each stage. I have tried to explain the best I can to make each process clear. If there is anything you are uncertain of, please ask, or pose a question here for someone else who may answer.
I am UK based, so my description of 'icing', is ready-to-roll pre-made. I buy it as it's easier, and tastes quite nice.
Well, thanks for the reply. Haha. I am sorry for the slightly rude comment here but I am seeing a trend of daily deviations that are just kinda lame tutorials. But I do, for sure, again... REALLY like the cake. @_@ lol
That's pretty cool! I do like the idea of being able to eat the "box". Meals in which you have no use for plates nor forks are the best, being able to eat everything on the table with bare hands is the absolute pleasure, no matter the meal is sweet or salty or whatever mix. ...I must admit that I'm quite a barbarian who likes to fight with food.
Haha, well, when it's about food, at least, if you're not satisfied you can avenge yourself by eating it ferociously ...or give it away to your neighbor, or some beggar. The good thing is that food will always please someone, because everything is better with food ...misery to begin with^^
